I look out the window of my computer room to a little sitting area in my small, urban backyard; but don't let "small" and "urban" fool you.
At various times over the years, I've seen some amazing sights.
One morning, I witnessed a red-tailed hawk follow a sparrow into my lantana plant. He floated above it for a time, then gave up, landed on the ground, and actually circled it on foot. To no avail though! The sparrow was spared! LOL
Another morning, I saw a white egret eat the remaining goldfish from my little pond, then fly to my neighbor's roof to "flaunt" the catch for a while; a falcon once took a blackbird out of midair then balanced his prey beneath him on our wooden fence for a few moments; most afternoons, a black phoebe rests a bit on the little wrought iron flag holder next to the penta flowers; and last, but never least, one of my hummingbird feeders hangs right outside the window. I can see, and hear, my favorite little birds all day, everyday, and even into the night.
Nature is everywhere....you just have to look!
